This filter came from a Massey Ferguson 35 tractor. The owner brought in the tractor telling me “She’s down on power with me”. Discussion ensued and it was decided that a new fuel filter might improve things. A filter was ordered and later in the day the tractor was returned to the garage and the fuel filter housing removed. You can see that the filter element looks like its been in a pond. I can honestly say don’t think I’ve ever seen such a contaminated filter. I asked the owner when it was last changed and he proudly told me that the seller of the tractor had informed him that a it had a new filter fitted at the time of sale. “When was that?” I asked, “Oh back in 1968” the owner proudly replied. Forty five years ago.
